Tour Start and Departure

Your private Northern Lights tour begins at our designated pick-up point in Tromsø, where we’ll welcome you warmly. After a short introduction, we leave the city lights behind and head into the Arctic wilderness.

Pick-up from a custom location on Tromsø island, Kvaløysletta, or Tromsdalen can be arranged on request—please let us know when booking.

Chasing the Northern Lights

Because every night is different, we adapt our route based on weather and cloud cover. Moreover, to give you the best chance of success, we track weather conditions in real-time using trusted services like YR.no before and during the tour. Typically, the drive to the best viewing location takes between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours. Along the way, you’ll pass breathtaking Arctic landscapes under a starlit sky, far from any city lights. In addition, your guide will share local insights about the Arctic nature and traditions.

Aurora Viewing Experience

Once we find the perfect spot, we create a cozy base with a warm campfire to keep everyone comfortable. As the evening unfolds, you can relax by the fire, sip on hot drinks, and enjoy hearty snacks while waiting for the magical auroras to appear.

Photography and Memories

Throughout the night, your guide will capture photos of you beneath the Northern Lights. If you bring your own camera, we’ll gladly help you adjust the settings for optimal aurora photography. Furthermore, tripods are available free of charge to make it even easier to snap unforgettable shots.

Return to Tromsø

After our Arctic adventure comes to an end, we drive you safely back to Tromsø. If luck was on your side, you’ll return with glowing memories and stunning photos. Either way, the night promises an authentic Arctic experience you’ll always remember.

  • Accessibility: Unfortunately, this tour is not accessible for wheelchair users.
