Join our Private Fishing Tour Tromsø aboard a Kværnø 575 open boat and experience fishing in the waters around Tromsø. This 4-hour fishing tour includes pick-up and drop-off in Tromsø and is reserved exclusively for you and your group, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers. We select fishing locations according to the season, weather and fishing conditions, with opportunities to catch cod, halibut, coalfish and other species. Fishing equipment, safety gear, hot drinks and snacks are included.

Tour Start and Safety Briefing

Your private fishing tour in Tromsø starts at Skattøra Marina. Before departure, we provide each guest with a floating suit and life jacket, followed by a safety briefing and an introduction to the boat and fishing equipment. You’ll also have time to ask any questions before we head out on the water.

Journey to the Fishing Grounds

The boat ride to the fishing grounds usually takes around 10–20 minutes, depending on the location we choose for the day. Along the way, you can enjoy views of Tromsø’s coastline, fjords and mountains, and you may also see local wildlife such as seabirds, seals or dolphins.

Open Boat Fishing Experience

Once we reach the fishing grounds, we prepare the fishing equipment and start fishing. Your guide will assist with the equipment and fishing techniques when needed, whether you are fishing for the first time or already have experience. From the Kværnø 575 open boat, you have plenty of space to fish while enjoying the surrounding fjords and mountains.

Refreshments and Photos

During the fishing tour, hot drinks and snacks are included. Your guide can also take photos during the trip, so you’ll have pictures from your private fishing tour in Tromsø. Along the way, we are happy to share our local knowledge about fishing, marine life and the waters around Tromsø.

Extend Your Fishing Tour

Would you like more time on the water? You can extend your private fishing tour by an extra hour for 1,500 NOK. You can decide during the tour and pay by card — just let your guide know.

Return to Tromsø

After fishing, we return to Skattøra Marina in Tromsø. From the marina, we provide drop-off back to your accommodation or agreed location within our pick-up and drop-off area.

Fish Export from Norway

Tromsø Explorer is registered as a tourist fishing business in Norway. If you would like to take part of your catch home, we provide the required documentation for legal fish export from Norway in accordance with the current regulations.

  • Minimum height requirement: All passengers must meet the minimum height requirement for this tour – 128cm.
  • Safety equipment and briefing: Each guest receives a floating suit and life jacket and takes part in a safety briefing before departure.
  • Physical readiness: Fishing can be physically demanding, particularly when retrieving fish from deeper water or handling larger fish. Guests should be comfortable with moderate physical activity.
  • No pets: Pets cannot join the tour.
  • Accessibility: Unfortunately, this tour is not suitable for wheelchair users.
