Tour Start and Departure

Your private Sommarøy tour begins at our designated pick-up point in Tromsø, where your guide will greet you. After a short introduction, we leave the city behind and begin a scenic drive through Kvaløya’s varied landscapes.

Pick-up from a custom location on Tromsø island, Kvaløysletta, or Tromsdalen can be arranged on request—please let us know when booking.

On the Way to Sommarøy

Our route passes four stunning fjords: Kaldfjord, Ersfjord, Nordfjord, and Sørfjord. We stop at the most scenic locations along the way, giving you time to take photos, enjoy the Arctic air, and, when possible, go for a short walk. You’ll see beaches, mountain valleys, and small fishing villages that show the quieter side of life in Northern Norway.

Exploring Sommarøy

When we arrive at Sommarøy, there is time to walk along the beaches, admire the turquoise waters, and enjoy the calm atmosphere of this traditional fishing island. Snacks and warm drinks are provided so you can relax and take in the views.

Hella and Rystraumen

On the drive back to Tromsø, we stop at Hella, an old coastal settlement with historic stone structures and open sea views. From here, you can often observe the Rystraumen tidal current, a dramatic natural phenomenon known for its swirling waters.

Return Journey

After a day of Arctic nature and island life, we return to Tromsø. This relaxed journey gives you time to enjoy the landscapes at your own pace and experience one of the most scenic areas near the city.
